Subaru Service Plan Programs

Subaru Solterra 5 year/75,000 km service plan program

Under the Subaru Solterra 5 Year/75,000 Kilometre Service Plan (“Service Plan”) owners of eligible Model Year (MY) 2024 onwards Subaru Solterra vehicles are covered for scheduled servicing during their first 5 years of ownership, or the first 75,000 kilometres (whichever comes first), free of any additional charge.

 

 

Subaru 3 and 5 year service plan programs

For all Subaru vehicles (excluding Subaru Solterra), we offer 3 Year or 5 Year Service Plans1. Service Plans allow you to pay upfront for the first 3 or 5 years of standard scheduled services. Simply purchase a Service Plan at the same time as your new vehicle or before your first scheduled service. This excludes service plan promotional offers.   • Complimentary 3 Year Roadside Assist2
  • FREE service hire vehicles for your scheduled services covered under the Plan3
  • All servicing is conducted by factory-trained, qualified technicians who are backed up by Subaru Australia’s technical support team
  • Subaru Service Centres only use Genuine Subaru Parts which are designed, tested and manufactured to the factory’s exacting standards
  • Subaru Service Centres use the very latest Subaru-specific diagnostic equipment and specialty tools

1. Subaru 3 and 5 Year Service Plans excludes Model Year 2018 onwards Subaru BRZ vehicles. All new Model Year 2018-2020 Subaru BRZ vehicles purchased from an authorised Subaru Retailer on or after 1st January 2019 is eligible for the 63 months/ 105,000 Kilometre Service Plan Program (whichever comes first).

2. Customers must provide a valid phone number and residential address, as well as a date of birth. Rental, privately imported and grey import vehicles are excluded, and additional exclusions may apply. For more Terms and Conditions click here.

3. When your standard scheduled service is booked at least 14 days in advance and subject to service hire vehicle availability.

 

Subaru Service Plan Price Guide

Subaru Capped Price Servicing

With our 5 Year Capped Price Servicing Program you’ll know the maximum amount you’ll pay for applicable scheduled services during the Program period. Every brand new Subaru comes with Subaru’s 5 Year Capped Price Servicing Program. Depending on the Subaru model purchased, it will be covered by one of the following Capped Price Servicing Programs:

a. Subaru 5 Year 62,500km Capped Price Servicing

b. Subaru 5 Year 75,000km Capped Price Servicing

Subaru Capped Price Servicing applies to every standard scheduled service applicable during the specific program period, either time or kilometre based, whichever occurs first. The Capped Prices are locked in for the term of the Program, which means that you’ll know upfront the maximum amount that you’ll pay for each applicable scheduled service. All with the peace of mind that specialist Subaru technicians will be looking after your pride and joy using only Genuine Subaru Parts.

Whilst service pricing may vary from Retailer to Retailer, rest assured that if you bring your vehicle to a participating authorised Subaru Service Centre, you will not be charged more than the published Capped Price for your vehicle for the service interval in question.

Scheduled Service Intervals

Your Subaru has an optimum service interval that depends as much on time and driving conditions as it does on distance. If you’re mostly driving your Subaru on sealed roads in moderate conditions, then you’ll need to service it as per the standard service schedule intervals, either according to time or kilometres travelled.

When should you service your Subaru?

Everyone’s driving habits are different and therefore so are the service requirements for your vehicle. You should be servicing your vehicle based either on time or distance, whichever occurs first. For example, 12 months or 15,000 kilometres.

Time Vs. Distance

If you don’t do a lot of kilometres you should have your Subaru serviced according to the recommended time-based service intervals. So even though you haven’t travelled great distances, the engine has been working hard during those short, stop-start trips, such as city driving.

However, if you drive your Subaru more regularly and over longer distances you will reach the kilometre interval first. In this case you should service your vehicle based on the recommended distance travelled.

Why is regular servicing important?

Keeping to a service schedule is more than just changing the oil and the odd air filter.

Irregular servicing can also lead to reduced fuel efficiency and increased air pollution, potentially damaging the retained value of your vehicle.

A regular schedule also helps to preserve and maintain the performance, safety and retained value of your Subaru. During scheduled services, Subaru technicians perform inspections of your brake system, tyres, driveline and steering components, all vitally important for your safety.

Failing to regularly service your Subaru could endanger your vehicle warranty. Failure to properly maintain your Subaru may result in your vehicle developing faults, which will not be covered under the New Vehicle Warranty.

When extra servicing is needed

If you constantly undergo severe driving conditions or drive in harsh environments, then your vehicle will require additional maintenance.

 

These conditions could include (but are not limited to) any or all of the following:

  • Operating in extremely hot or cold weather
  • Living in coastal areas
  • Towing a trailer
  • Repeated short trips
  • Driving on dusty roads
  • Driving on rough, muddy or snow-melted roads
  • Mountainous area living
  • Extensive idling and/or low speed driving for long distances
  • Continuous high speed driving (at speeds greater than 140 km/h) for over 2 hours
  • Under high performance conditions (e.g. track days)

Additives recommended by Subaru Australia

Subaru Australia does not recommend the use of chemical additives, which are not specifically required or recommended by Subaru Australia or Subaru Corporation (previously Fuji Heavy Industries) as necessary for the servicing of Subaru vehicles. You should also be aware that the use of non-recommended chemical additives could cause damage that may not be covered by the Manufacturer’s warranty.

The recommended replacement specification of oils, lubricants, fuel, coolants and other chemical additives are listed in the workshop manuals, service information, owner’s manual and owner’s manual supplement for Australia.
